February 14th is quickly approaching and, uh oh, you haven’t decided how you’ll be celebrating on campus. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! All of these suggestions are budget-conscious because, trust us, we know that broke-college-kid life very well.
If you’re celebrating with a long term significant other:
Idea 1: Plan a night in! Make it an extra special night by picking up some comfy new merch, like this cool hoodie from our sweetheart collection, some fuzzy socks and maybe a cozy new blanket. That extra thought you put into a cute, little gift will not go unnoticed. And, bonus, it won’t break the bank! Now all you have to do is pick out a movie she’s been dying to see on Netflix, order some takeout, and you’re set.
Idea 2: If you have the luxury of having access to a kitchen in your dorm, apartment, or fraternity house then we recommend a make-your-own-pizza night! We love this hands-on date night because it gets you out of your normal rut and it's delicious. Just throw on an old Comfort Colors tee that you don’t mind getting dirty, grab the ingredients from your local grocery store and get cooking! (Or get even more adventurous and try making your own pizza dough.)
If want to keep it light and casual:
Idea 1: Make it a coffee date! Find yourself an artsy little coffee shop on campus, call your girl, and spend the day chatting away, sipping coffee, and having a great time. The beauty of a coffee shop date is that they can take place during the morning or afternoon which automatically makes the mood a lot lighter and keeps everything casual. You can still have a great time without any unnecessary strings attached just because it's Valentine’s Day.
Idea 2: Go out and do something active! Getting those endorphins pumping will lead to such a fun, casual date. A lot of campuses and college towns have group workout classes that you can do together, open basketball courts for some 1-on-1, or maybe even something you’ve never done before like rock climbing. Keeping your date active and adventurous might not be your typical move but it will definitely be a unique experience that they’ll remember for a while!
If you don’t have any plans this year:
Idea 1: Make the night all about Y-O-U. Get your favorite meal delivered, throw on your comfiest crewneck and joggers, and spend the night doing all of your favorite things. Whether that is rewatching your favorite movie for the hundredth time, bingeing that new show you’ve been dying to watch, playing your favorite video game or board game, just use tonight as an excuse to put yourself first with no guilt. You deserve a “me night” every once in a while.
Idea 2: No need to go solo! Grab your fraternity brothers or sorority sisters and have a great time together with friends. Plan an outing you would all enjoy together, like cheering your school on at a basketball game, going to see a movie, or grabbing dinner together at your favorite local restaurant. A chance to get your friends together is never a bad idea and this is the perfect excuse.
