Don't be worried about what songs to choose... Campus Classics has your back and will be your personal DJ for your recruiting event. You can take all of our suggestions or just a few but either way these tunes will get the recruitment party going!
What is more welcoming than a song that literally says “welcome to my house?” This multi-platinum hit has a mellow beat that allows anyone who hears it to feel relaxed yet ready to have a good time. So if you want people on campus to join your frat or sorority house then you need to add this to your playlist!
All someone has to say is “Because I’m….” and people will start singing this song. As cliche as it might sound this song really does raise your spirits and, yes, makes you happy. To lighten up the mood and jam to something you can clap and sing along with, put this in your mix!
Wagon Wheel is another song that many people know and can sing along with. It is a song that makes you feel like you could be sitting by a campfire singing with your best buds. For a little bit of a homely country feel, add this to the list.
“Baby, I like your style.” And you’ll like all the people feeling this song at your recruitment event. This slow and methodical song pulls people in with its unique sound and character. In this song Drake says a lot without saying much at all but the emotions behind it can be felt.
Taki Taki by DJ Snake ft. Selena Gomez, Ozuna, Cardi B
“Taki Taki” is a phrase that sounds great but does anyone really know what it means? For that matter, do we really care? This collaboration contains some latin beats with catchy lyrics from all involved! And some of these lyrics are even in Spanish!
Closer by The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey
“Hey….. I was doing just fine before I met you” and now you probably have the song stuck in your head. This huge hit from The Chainsmokers, with help from Halsey, is a song that took the pop charts by storm in 2016 and is still a favorite today. If you want the guys and girls to get lost in the moment and feel like they “ain’t ever getting older” then put this in your mix!
Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars
What hasn’t been said about this song? Is it Michelle Pfeiffer and that white gold? Is it rocking some Chucks? Or is it that it's so hot it would make a dragon wanna retire? Whatever it is, this funky jam knows how to get the party going. And it knows it too!
Something Just Like This by T he Chainsmokers & Coldplay
On our list is another Chainsmokers anthem, Something Just Like This! This song reminds us that we don’t need to be a superhero or superhuman in order to have a good time. That simply being yourself is enough. And isn’t being yourself what you want for your new recruits?
Don't Stop ’Til You Get Enough by Michael Jackson
From the infectious beat to the lyrics, this song is just about having a good time. If you don’t have a Delorian and want to take your recruits back to the time of funk, then add this tune to your list of songs!
This song can get a party going with its simple yet catchy chorus, “Hey Yaaaaa!” It was huge when it came out and you will hear this at a lot of events. If you want the undergrads to say “Hey yaaa can I join?” then add this to your playlist!
This Is How We Do It by Montell Jordan
This 90’s jam perfectly tells the story of going to a party on Friday night and turning up! This Is How We Do It is a throwback that automatically puts you in the 90’s because of how popular it was in the day and it is always included in any 90’s playlist. If you want to show that your frat or sorority does it like nobody else does, then play this track!
Do you sometimes feel the best you can do in a relationship is just to keep from going under? By the time you are an undergrad many students can relate to that and this song captures that feeling well. It is also a jam that many people heard before and will start singing along with the chores.
All The Small Things by Blink 182
This late 90’s/early 2000’s is a perfect mixture of punk and pop that has been featured in many movies like American Pie and T.V. shows like Family Guy. It doesn’t have a deep meaning or complex lyrics but all of the “Na na na’s” will carry new recruits to your Greek home.
Remember “everything, everything will be alright, alright” is a mantra we have all told ourselves during finals week and is the main message of this song. Sometimes life can be stressful and we need a throwback to get us into a good mood. Get your possible recruits into a better space with this early 2000’s song!
A song you are going to hear all over the radio and in clubs, Post Malone has created another hit with this song. And while we don’t always know the words or what the song may be talking about, all we can say is “wow!”
Old Town Road by Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus
Another song that has been a huge hit lately and for good reason. This is one of the few songs that has successfully integrated hip hop and country music. With its mix of rural and urban sounds and some catchy lyrics, “you can’t tell” us this ain’t a hit!
Don’t Stop Believing by Journey
This song can be heard on Classic Rock Stations and Karaoke bars all over the world! Don’t Stop Believing is a massive hit by Journey which can get anyone who hears it to start singing. If you start playing this song, folks will not stop coming to see your Greek chapter!
September by Earth Wind & Fire
It was fall of 1978 when this groovy tune was released and afterwards we never forgot the time we danced in September. With its funky and soulful sounds this song can lighten up any room and make you want to get on the dance floor. To get some of the undergrads feeling the groove, play this classic!
Electronic, energetic, and bouncing, this Daft Punk classic just makes you want to move your body. Sure you may not have any dance moves. Sure you may look a little bit crazy. But to this song, it doesn't matter how you look as long you get to dancin!
Despacito by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee
To say Despacito was a hit is a massive understatement. To this day the song has over 6 billion views on youtube and it keeps growing. This latin pop song took not just the U.S. but the world by storm. With its smooth latin beat it will be an automatic favorite at any event that puts it on!
This catchy summer hit will make people at your event automatically start singing along! This was the reunion of the Jonas Brothers so this was going to be a big deal and with this song playing, a lot of potential recruits will be hitting you up!
Slow, smooth, and steady is the beat Khalid usually goes with and it works especially well here. The simple lyrics draw you in and just makes whatever environment you are in more relaxed. If you want to get some possible new recruits chilled out to talk about your Sorority or Frat, this is the song to play.
Finesse (Remix)” by Bruno Mars feat. Cardi B
Both of these artists are power houses in their own right, but when Bruno and Cardi came together for this song they blew the roof off! This music video for this 90’s throwback has a lot of In Living Color references and really emanates swag. If you want a song that is going to make you all feel confident and laid back while pitching your chapter, then try this song out!
Cruise by Florida Georgia Line Ft. Nelly
Cruise was a country song that successfully crossed over to the pop charts. But when Nelly came on for a remix, it took this song to another level! Marrying together country, pop, and hip-hop seems like a near impossible task, but this song does it with ease. To make everybody cruise over to your frat or sorority, play this one loud and clear!
Everybody by The Backstreet Boys
Pretty much everybody, whether they want to admit it or not, know not only the beat but also the words to this song. It is an instant party starter and everybody who hears this song will be rockin' their bodies over to your recruiting event to check you out.
